FIBRE OPTIC TRANSMITTER BOARD Type 4290
Type 4290 is the transmitter side of the fibre optic training system. It generates optical and electrical signals for plastic and glass fibre, infrared transmission and comparison lines. Together with the receiver board it enables complete transmission experiments.

Transmitter side and signals
The board provides the transmitter side of the fibre optic system. Optical outputs for plastic and glass fibres as well as electrical comparison outputs make it easy to build different transmission paths.
The integrated generators provide sine, square and pulse signals for repeatable experiments.
Extensions
With the laser module and optical bench, additional exercises on attenuation, fault simulation and reflections can be built. This makes the board suitable for an introduction to optoelectronic communication.
Infrared and wired-line experiments can also be integrated into the same setup.
